Founded in 1974, Priory Bowmen is
one of the smaller archery clubs in Essex with around 30 members. Nonetheless
we are remarkably successful: several of our members have shot for the County
Team and one for the England Junior Team. We also won the Essex Summer League
title 3 times in four years.
We are based near Clacton-on-Sea and are fortunate to have a private shooting
range. We currently shoot Sunday, Tuesday and Friday mornings (often going into
early afternoon). We shoot outdoors all year round. We shoot all kinds of bows
but cannot accommodate compounds. We concentrate on target archery but we have
a small (and very enthusiastic) band of field archers.
We run beginners lessons by arrangement and we welcome applications to join at
any time.
